Helios Solar Observation Workshop

The Helios Solar Observation Camp is a day camp designed to introduce students to the Sun and its importance to life on Earth. Camp is open to students of all ages and backgrounds.
The Sun is a dynamic and ever-changing star, and its activity has a profound impact on Earth and the rest of the solar system. Solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and other solar events can disrupt our communications and power grids, and they can also pose a hazard to astronauts and spacecraft.
Students will have the opportunity to observe the Sun through a variety of telescopes, They will also learn how to use solar filters to safely observe the Sun with their own eyes.
In addition to observing the Sun, students will also participate in a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations. They will learn about the different types of solar energy, and how solar energy can be used to generate electricity. They will also learn about the importance of protecting ourselves from the Sun’s harmful radiation.
The Helios Solar Observation Camp is a fun and educational experience for students of all ages. It is a great way to learn about the Sun, its importance to life on Earth, and the latest research in solar astronomy.
Here is a more detailed introduction to some of the topics that are typically covered at the Helios Solar Observation Camp:
